🗞️ Ready for our close-up
Plus, controversial rock concert went ahead in Shubenacadie, MacKay Bridge closed this weekend, and a pair of youths facing charges after racially motivated assault.
Happy Friday Halifax,
How many of you are sick of hearing about the elusive Epstein files? And how many of you are wondering why in the hell we need a list when we have dozens of women who were actually there and have been very open about the men who were also there?
Let’s be real: We all know who is on that list; it’s just that for some reason the information from the women that were victimized is not considered credible. Do we need a proper list for their stories to be considered legitimate? It makes no sense. We know who was there! And we know for sure Trump was.
Stacey Williams, for example—a former Sports Illustrated model who briefly dated Jeffrey Epstein—described to CNN how Trump once groped her in 1993. I believe her.
Or what about Marie Farmer? A former artist who first accused Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell of sexual assault almost three decades ago and told the New York Times that she had urged law enforcement officials back then to investigate powerful people in their orbit—including Donald Trump. I believe her too.
Four Epstein victims who spoke with NBC News say the Trump administration should be exposing any powerful men who shared Epstein’s penchant for vulnerable young women, not putting the brakes on any future prosecution. But as usual Trump proves he doesn’t care about protecting anyone but himself.
But it doesn’t really matter what he says or doesn’t say because we all know he was there! And we need to stop re-traumatizing these women for political purposes and to satisfy a completely insane curiosity when—not even that deep down—we already know the answer.
We don’t need a list; we need to listen.
With love and light, have a safe and restful weekend 💞
– Julie
