🗞️ No Re(doubt) about it

Plus, judge convicts 17-year-old boy of manslaughter, Catholic church in Halifax could become affordable housing and Nova Scotia model inspires new colouring book.

Hey Halifax,

Another day, another whole lot of 🦗🦗🦗 from York Redoubt and Parks Canada on the big show featuring Christian rocker Sean Feucht.

Feucht unsuccessfully ran for U.S. congress as a Republican in 2020 and is also a missionary and an author who has spoken out against the 2SLGBTQ+ community, abortion rights, and critical race theory on his website.

Many residents are calling for the event to be cancelled, but a reader let me know that set-up for the event has already begun on the site—which indicates to me that the plan is still going full steam ahead.

This CBC article says that residents of the area have never seen a concert at York Redoubt before and that they only learned about the event after Parks Canada sent out an email over the weekend warning residents about potential noise and parking issues.

Yesterday I asked what you guys thought about the event being held at a national historic site and you did not hold back. Head on over to The Coast to see the official results of the poll and our favourite reader responses.

Have a great day,

– Julie
