Oh hey Halifax,
Did you ever babysit when you were younger? If so, you know that it mostly entailed eating foreign junk food and talking on the landline. Horror movies make babysitting seem dangerousāIām looking at you When a Stranger Calls and Halloweenābut in real life, itās usually more boring than anything.
But then I read this true babysitting horror story that shook me to my very core, so read at your own risk.
A babysitter in Kansas was putting a child to bed andāas per bedtime standard operating procedureāthe child started complaining about a āmonsterā under the bed. The babysitter humoured the kid and got down and looked under the bed to check andā¦came face to face with a grown ass man!

The man then plowed over the babysitter, knocked down the kid and then took off. He was gone by the time the police arrived. Apparently the man once lived in the home, but there was a protection from abuse order issued against him to stay away from the property. Police captured the guy on foot the day after the horrific āmonsterā incident.
I normally donāt believe anything children say at bedtime because they are little manipulators with their āIām thirstyā and āCan I tell you a secret?ā song-and-dance, but now I will rethink my whole stance.
So scary!
Stay safe out there and watch out for monstersāreal or imagined š¹
