Good morning.
My brother gave me a call yesterday. He lives in an apartment building with his girlfriend in the town of Tumbler Ridge.
He let me know that an active shooting was nearby, saying he heard sirens. They shuttered in their apartment, waiting for the ongoing emergency alert to pass.
As of writing, at least nine people are dead following a shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia. Twenty-five victims are injured. The suspect was found dead by police with a self-inflicted injury.
This is a devastating tragedy in a beautiful town. Please keep the students, parents, and community of Tumbler Ridge in your hearts today.
