Good morning!
It was an exciting weekend in Halifax as runners from all over participated in the Blue Nose Marathon.
This includes our very own editor extraordinaire Julie, who ran in the Atlantic Chip Half-Marathon and claimed 374th place overall (out of 1592) and 9th in her division (out of 114). Amazing!
As someone who can’t run more than a couple minutes before wanting to curl up in a ball on the ground, I have an immense respect for the people who train to take part in events like this. The commitment, the courage, and the stamina needed are all worthy of our admiration.
Congratulations to everyone who participated!

Lofty expectations: A night at Via Condotti

When a restaurant is launched by The Bertossi Group, the hospitality company behind establishments such as The Bicycle Thief, Amano, Il Mercato, Water Polo, Matadora and Pane e Circo, there are certain expectations. When Via Condotti arrived recently, it did so carrying lofty ones. The Bertossi Group does not lack bravado or confidence, and its past successes naturally invite a higher degree of scrutiny than many others receive.
