Happy Friday, Halifax!

We had this notice in our newsletter yesterday, but just to make sure everyone is fully aware, there has been a recall on multiple milk and dairy-free products due to possible glass contamination.

This impacts three products which are manufactured at Agropur’s Bedford plant: Farmers (two-litre cartons of 1 percent chocolate partly skimmed, 1 percent partly skimmed, 2 percent partly skimmed, and 3.25 percent homogenized), Natrel (two-litres of 1 percent lactose-free chocolate partly skimmed) and Québon in Quebec (two-litres of 2 percent partly skimmed milk). Best before dates range from March to April for Farmers and Québon, and April to May for Natrel.

According to a CBC article on the matter, a food safety investigation by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has begun.

On another note, the All Hands On Deck rally is being held today outside Province House starting at 12pm. Go down and check it out if you’re able.

Best,

– B

ARTS + CULTURE

Fabric of Our DNA launch event celebrates resilience of Nova Scotia arts community

📷 Contributed

At a time when artists across Nova Scotia are navigating funding cuts and increasing uncertainty, a new multidisciplinary initiative is creating space for expression, collaboration and community connection.

Fabric of Our DNA, presented by the House of Soli Productions, will launch with its kickoff event, Woven in Sound, on March 29 at Market Price. The free event, running from 4pm to 6pm, will feature a lineup of emerging artists whose work spans music, fashion and performance, weaving together themes of identity, culture and belonging.

The event comes at a critical moment for the province’s arts sector. Many artists and organizers say recent funding reductions have made it more difficult to sustain creative work and build platforms for new voices.
