This morning, as I brewed my coffee, a wave of Maritime bliss washed over me. Tulips are in bloom, and there’s something about their quiet arrival that feels like nature’s way of whispering: winter’s over. Instant serotonin.
Speaking of good vibes, the Dartmouth Shelter—Nova Scotia SPCA—is looking for volunteers and foster parents. If you’ve got a bit of room in your home (and your heart), consider this your sign. I’ve put together a short piece all about it—check it out below.

Halifax artists remember influential musician Henri Sangalang

Halifax lost a musical virtuoso on April 9 with the passing of Henri Sangalang. One member of the four-piece alt-rock band The Flashing Lights, Sangalang touched the lives—and music—of many of the city’s foremost artists.
