Welcome to the inaugural City Hall Insider newsletter. This is a new thing we are trying at The Coast, to see if there are enough people who want to stay in the know about the happenings at Halifax’s City Hall to warrant doing this regularly. This newsletter will include everything you need to know, interspersed with me, City Hall reporter Matt Stickland, giving some analysis and context about what you’re reading. Since the machinations of municipal government are usually very dry, I try to make it lighter—or at least as light as budget documents allow.
