🗞️ A Windsor exchange
Plus, police shot man barricaded in his burning home after he pulled a gun, NDP calling on province to re-establish housing department and everything that's going on in Halifax this weekend.

Hey Halifax,
Good news for all the TikTok tradwives out there: you can head over to the Memory Lane Heritage Village this weekend and learn how to churn your own butter!
If you’re not familiar, a tradwife refers to a married woman who embraces traditional gender roles, particularly focusing on homemaking and supporting her husband by raising the kids, cooking and keeping the house clean.
The Women's Heritage Celebration is an annual celebration of women’s work in the home—with activities for the entire family throughout the village grounds.
Grab your daughters and sample some sweet and savoury traditional cooking as the women in old-timey smocks make jams and jellies on the old wood cookstove! Then try your hand at the wringer washer and lend a hand with the weekly washing!
Plus, there’s a tea party and church!
I guess it’s useful to remind ourselves how women used to have to do everything around the home so that you can see how little things have changed. We were expected to do it all then and we’re expected to do it all now. Plus work a full time job!
At least we have washing machines now and grocery stores for all our preserve needs.
I’m going to be skipping this one because I think it’s honestly strange, but you feel free to fill your aprons!
Have a safe and restful weekend!
– Julie

At this week’s meeting, regional councillors voted unanimously in favour of continuing some preparation, or early work projects, at the Windsor Street Exchange this year—as planning continues on a final design that will be back before council in the spring of next year.
Whatever that means.
City staff told council that by getting work underway this year, the project maintains eligibility for $30 million in external funding from the federal and provincial governments.
So, it sounds like it’s back on…for now.
